Mission Statement and Objectives

The Environmental Management Program is to work in accordance with the Maine Turnpike Authority's Strategic Plan: To be sensitive to Maine's special environmental heritage.

Objective 12 of Infrastructure Improvements states:

• The Turnpike will be environmentally sensitive in its operation and maintenance of the facility, as well as planning new capital projects.
  
• Implement an Environmental Management Program for Operations.
  
• Continue to work with Environmental Regulatory Agencies in the planning and development of new projects.
  
• Promote recycling, re-using and pollution prevention.
